Location: Remote- Europe
Type: Part-time. Freelance. Remote. Part-time (leading to fulltime for the right candidate)
About the role
Wizard on Demand needs someone who is deep into paid social ads to help our online marketing agency. We create content (currently articles and organic social media) for companies who build tech products solutions. We need you to get more eyeballs on our marketing efforts using social media ads for our clients' highly targeted B2B audiences and move people through the marketing funnel.
We target specific technical audiences such as software engineers, product managers, and engineering executives. Our focus is on specific technologies for people who build technical products. This means we write about things like databases, frameworks, and developer tools. Our ads feature product screenshots, technical user pain points, and graphs/charts. We have also experimented with video ads and are looking to do more of those.
We tend to work with early-stage companies or with new products/projects at larger companies, where the messaging is not crystal-clear. Throughout client engagements we help our client counterparts land on the right messaging by going through many ad iterations and updates.
Our belief is that the best ads focus on very specific pain points of the prospects, and help engage them through excellent copywriting and helpful visuals.
We do not:
- advertise for ecommerce businesses
- advertise things that are not software or software-adjacent
- build advertising strategies that are focused on lowest-cost clicks — but rather focus on bringing in quality audiences
Relevant ad platforms
- Linkedin
- Twitter
- Reddit
- YouTube
What you’ll do
- Write compelling ad copy and collaborate with designers to create engaging creatives
- Set up and manage ad campaigns across social media networks, ensuring correct UTMs, tracking, and landing pages
- Monitor campaign performance on a day-to-day basis, make adjustments to stay within targets for budget, reach, frequency, and other metrics
- Use tools like Microsoft Clarity or Posthog, as well as analytics platforms, to understand the quality of the users we are bringing in through advertising and their fit for the clients’ ICP
- Communicate with clients about their campaign results and provide recommendations, respond to client questions and provide clarifications as needed
- Work with the design team to continually improve results for our clients
What we offer
- A supportive, remote-first environment with a highly skilled team of developers, designers, and technology marketers
- Opportunities to grow into a larger role as the team expands. We want hungry people
- A truly great culture. We don’t just write this on our job description because it sounds like what you want to hear. As soon as you have contact with us you get treated with respect throughout the hiring process.
- Our company culture understands remote work and how to make you a part of something - not just a lone freelancer
- Projects are well organised. We put a lot of effort into making sure you can focus on your tasks and getting job satisfaction from the work you do.
- The company has been running steadily since 2018. We value stability and we look for that from you, too.
About you
- 2 years minimum experience going deep into advertising on various social media platforms - non-negotiable.
- Evidence of running multiple campaigns across different clients.
- A strong communicator who enjoys working with designers and clients
- A creative thinker who understands what makes an ad engaging and enjoys the challenge of continuous improvement.
A definite bonus
- A computer science background or technical experience (e.g., coding, databases, data science)
We work with software developers and technical companies, so niche experience isn't essential, but this would give you a real edge. - Experience managing organic social media accounts or mixed paid+organic strategies
How we work
- Remote-only team - based in Europe and the US
- Flexible hours, but you need to be available Monday to Friday to collaborate with the team in Europe.
- Tools: Slack, Asana, Google Docs, Figma, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity
- We have a team of 15.. The culture is friendly and open. People tend to stay :)
- Regular clock-ins for support and monthly team meetings - the team element is important to us
If you have a mix of technical expertise, creativity, and analytical thinking, this is a great opportunity to grow in the digital advertising space.
The hiring process
We try to turn applications around fast and we respect people who want to do the same.
If you’re the right person for the job, we’re ready to hire you for an immediate start.
As part of the process, you will be required to demonstrate clearly that you can analyse and find positives and negatives in existing campaigns.
This job is definitely not entry level, so if you don’t already have two years of experience and a hungry attitude towards paid social ads, then it’s probably better that you don’t apply.
We love hunger and drive, but we need someone who is going to push this forward from day one.
What we value in your application
- A Linkedin Profile is preferred, but not essential
- Google docs links to your information (no PDFs please)
- As much clear detail as possible that relates directly to the details in this job description
- Any online evidence of your achievements (eg blogging about your experiences)
